Carl is a 17 year old boy that was hit by a drunk driver at the age of 13. In a day the life of an active 13 year old and his family was drastically altered. Carl’s family were regulars at the beach and in the campground during the nice weather. Since his accident, Carl has not been to the beach or camping due to his wheelchair not having the capability of maneuvering through this type of terrain. Insurance does not cover a more ‘all-terrain’ chair because it is not medically necessary. The foundation wanted to help enhance Carl’s quality of life and purchased a DeBug Beach wheelchair for him. That afternoon the family took Carl to the pumpkin patch, something they haven’t done in a few years, and he got to carry the pumpkins out! - October 2012
